DESCRIPTION:\nEstate Planning Council of Polk County\n Speaker Dinner Meeting\n ------\n\nOctober 21st\n 5:30 P.M. - 6:00 P. M Network Reception*\n \n6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Dinner and Presentation\n \nGrasslands Country Club\n 1600 Grasslands Blvd\n Lakeland, FL 33803\n \n \n \n This presentation explores the legal, practical, and interpretive tensions between what a grantor (the person giving property or rights) intends and how the grantee (the person receiving them) interprets those intentions.\n \nPanel Speakers\n   \n \n \nGentry B. Byrnes, J.D.\n \n \n \nCo-Founder, President & Chief Fiduciary Officer of Adelphi Trust Company. \n\n\n \nGentry has a 31-year legal and fiduciary career having served as the Chief Fiduciary Officer of Raymond James Trust, N.A. managing a team of professionals across the country with over 8 billion in assets. Prior to that, Gentry was the Senior Regional Trust Manager for the West Coast and Central Florida markets for Wells Fargo, previously Wachovia. Gentry started her career with the law firm of Fisher and Sauls, P.A. where her practice included estate and trust administration, estate planning and guardianship.  She was previously board certified by The Florida Bar in Elder Law. She frequently speaks on fiduciary and legal issues. \n\n\n \nGentry is currently the treasurer of the St. Petersburg Bar Foundation, chair of the Will for Warriors program at Stetson College of Law, a board member for the St Petersburg Free Clinic, and a member of the Stetson Elder Law Advisory Board. She is a past president of both the St. Petersburg Bar Association and Suncoast Estate Planning Council and remains active in both organizations. \n\n\n \n \n \nErica Roodhouse\n \nA native of St. Petersburg, Erica loves the Tampa Bay area and is grateful for the privilege to serve its residents with their diverse planning needs. She concentrates her practice in estate planning, tax planning, probate and trust administration, and guardianships. Erica’s favorite aspect of estate planning is providing peace of mind to clients that they will be cared for according to their wishes during lifetime and that their unique legacies will be preserved after their deaths. An empathetic listener, she provides comforting support to those who have lost loved ones or need to establish guardianships for beloved family members.\n \nErica earned her law degree, with honors, from Stetson University College of Law and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The College of William and Mary. Besides practicing, she writes and speaks on various issues related to wills, trusts, estates, and guardianships.\n \nWhen not working, Erica enjoys spending time with her husband, Ronald Roodhouse, Jr., a retired United States Air Force veteran and former JAG officer, and her two fur babies. She can generally be found traveling or preparing for her next trip to explore the world.\n \nDarby Jones J.D.\n \nDarby Jones founded [Professional Fiduciary Services, LLC](https://professionalfiduciary.com/docs/Bio_and_Brochure2017.pdf), with the goal of providing independent, competent, and reliable service in fiduciary capacities including trustee, executor, conservator, or agent for the Advance Health Care Directive, Durable Power of Attorney for Asset and Property Management, or private bill paying.\n \nPrior to starting Professional Fiduciary Services, LLC, Ms. Jones worked as either a Trust Officer for financial institutions or practiced as an estate planning attorney. During that time she identified a critical need for which a solution was often difficult to find…that is “someone to serve as a trusted fiduciary” for a family’s estate plan, or for a single individual without close relatives, or for a disabled adult, or for a multitude of unique and important situations. Ms. Jones is a licensed attorney in the State of Florida but now no longer practices law. Instead, she focuses her career on providing services that fill these critical needs for individuals and families. Ms. Jones’ clients range in age of three to ninety two years old!\n \n \n \n \n
